Frequently asked questions

How we describe condition, what is included with an item, and how ordering works. If your question is not here, just ask — we would rather answer it before you order than after.

Products & condition

We sell original vintage items unless a listing says otherwise. Where something is a reissue, a later production run, a reproduction box or an unofficial accessory, the listing will state that clearly in the title and description.

Some items are difficult to date precisely, particularly toys with no markings. Where there is any uncertainty about what a piece is, we describe what we can see rather than guessing.

Every listing carries a condition grade plus a written description of the wear we can see. The grades we use are:

Sealed — still in its original factory seal, unopened.
Boxed — supplied with its original box or packaging; the listing says what else is inside.
Complete — box, manual and any inserts or accessories that came with it originally.
Loose — the item on its own, without packaging.
Used — previously owned and showing normal wear for its age.
Spares or repair — faulty, incomplete or damaged, sold for parts or restoration.

Grades are a starting point, not the whole answer. The written description and photographs always take priority, so please read both before ordering.

It depends on the item, so each listing has its own testing field. It will say whether a piece has been powered up and checked, what was checked, or that it has not been tested.

Some things cannot be tested sensibly — sealed items are never opened, and we will not risk damaging a rare accessory to prove it works. Anything sold untested or faulty is listed as such and priced accordingly.

Only if the listing says so. Every product page has a What is included section that lists exactly what you will receive, whether that is the item alone or the full package with manual, inserts and accessories.

If something is missing — a manual, a battery cover, one of a figure’s weapons — we say which part is missing rather than leaving you to work it out from the photographs.

Ordering & delivery

Orders are packed as quickly as we can manage, and larger or more fragile pieces take a little longer because they are packed individually. Once your parcel is on its way you will receive a dispatch confirmation by email.

Delivery options and prices are shown at checkout before you pay, and the service used depends on the size, weight and value of the parcel. Heavier items such as consoles and boxed toys are sent on a tracked service.

We are a UK-based shop. Any destinations we can post to will be listed at checkout, and where international delivery is available the buyer is responsible for any customs charges or import duties in their own country.

Get in touch and ask. Whether we can hold something depends on the item and how much interest there is in it, so we would rather discuss it than promise a blanket policy that we cannot keep to.

Most of our stock is single quantity, so an item is only held for you once your order is complete. Adding something to your basket does not reserve it, and if a listing sells while you are browsing it will show as sold.

If you miss something, send us a message. We cannot promise another will appear, but we can keep an eye out.

Returns, selling & keeping in touch

Contact us first with your order number and, where relevant, a photograph of the problem. We will confirm the return address and how to send the item back before you post anything.

Please note that wear described in a listing is not a fault — a boxed item sold with a creased box arrives with a creased box. Where an item arrives damaged in transit or is materially different from its description, tell us and we will put it right.

We are always interested in hearing about retro games, consoles, toys and pop-culture collectibles that are looking for a new home, whether that is a single unusual piece or a whole loft’s worth.

Send a list and a few photographs through the contact form, choosing Selling a collection as the enquiry type. We cannot buy everything — it depends on what it is, its condition and what we already have — but we will always give you an honest answer.

Join the mailing list on the home page and you will hear when new items are listed, including the unusual pieces that tend to sell quickly. We also post new arrivals on our social channels.

If you are hunting for something specific, tell us. We keep a note of the things people are after and get in touch if one turns up.
